6 Months Project About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated Workers' Compensation General Assistant for a 6-month project in our Martinez, CA location.
The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive administrative support to our Workers' Compensation team, assisting in the management and administration of workers' compensation claims, ensuring timely and accurate processing in accordance with state laws and company policies.
This role is pivotal in facilitating the smooth operation of the Workers' Compensation department, ensuring both employee needs and company compliance are effectively met.
Key
Responsibilities:
Assist in the management and administration of workers' compensation claims, including but not limited to, filing claims, coordinating with insurance carriers, and monitoring claim status.
Support the Workers' Compensation Manager and team in the coordination and scheduling of appointments, meetings, and hearings.
Maintain and update records, databases, and filing systems related to workers' compensation claims.
Prepare and distribute correspondence and communication related to workers' compensation matters to employees, healthcare providers, insurance adjusters, and attorneys.
Collect and compile data and reports on claim trends, costs, and outcomes for internal analysis and compliance purposes.
Assist in the development and implementation of workers' compensation policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state regulations and company standards.
Provide general administrative support including photocopying, scanning, mailing, and faxing documents related to workers' compensation claims.
Participate in training sessions and seminars to stay updated on workers' compensation laws and best practices.
Perform other related duties as assigned to support the Workers' Compensation team.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in an administrative or assistant role, preferably in workers' compensation, insurance, or legal settings.
Knowledge of workers' compensation laws and regulations, claim processing procedures, and best practices.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to learn new software and systems.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
