Local 21 - Supervisory Management Contra Costa County Public Works Department (CCCPWD) maintains over 660 miles of roads, 150 miles of streams, channels, and over 200 County buildings throughout Contra Costa County.
CCCPWD provides services such as Parks and Recreation, Sandbag Distribution and Flood Control throughout unincorporated areas of Contra Costa County.

Under general direction, the Public Works Assistant Field Operations Manager plans, monitors and assess annual road and flood control maintenance programs; and performs other related duties as required.
The Public Works Assistant Field Operations Manager has responsibility for road and flood control maintenance strategic planning, systematic improvement of work processes and coaching and mentoring line supervisors to enhance general management, supervision and technical skills.
The Public Works Assistant Field Operations Manager is distinguished from Public Works Field Operations Manager in that the latter has responsibility for overall management of the field operations.
It is also further distinguished from Public Works Maintenance Supervisor in that the latter has direct responsibility for a defined geographic or functional area.
This classification reports to the Public Works Field Operations Manager.
The Public Works Department is currently recruiting to fill two (2) vacant positions for the Public Works Assistant Field Operations Manager classification.
