Maintenance Supervisor

Serves as the supervisor over the maintenance, repair, alteration and construction of installation facilities, which encompasses maintenance and repair of grounds, and outlying buildings as well as satellite clinics. Performs a variety of tasks involved in the upkeep of buildings, grounds, and related structures, fixtures, and utilities. Typical work assignments include the performance of visual examinations and operational tests. Responsible for the selection, evaluation, initiation of promotion, adverse, and other personnel actions for the professional and paraprofessional members of the unit; selects, supervises, and coordinates activities of subordinates. Plans, coordinates, and directs work through subordinate leaders and/or supervisors. Maintain effective measures of staff competency and performance improvement. Makes recommendations on work and projects ensuring workloads are balanced and recommends adjustments as required for efficiency of operations. Promotes and administers a variety of management programs for the work centers supervised, such as safety, cost reduction, incentive awards, beneficial suggestions, and quality assurance within policies and procedures established by higher authority. Ensures all materials, which are needed for the accomplishment of specific job orders, preventive maintenance, outstanding job orders and routine tickets are provided to the workers. Follows education compliance, practice of good safety, and health habits in all work areas; Ensures safety equipment and protective clothing/gear are worn when mandated by regulations. Reports any condition which might pose a hazard to safety or health to the appropriate authority as soon as possible after detection. Reports to the Facility Manager, who reports to the Assistant Chief, who in return reports to the Chief of the Service. Serves as the facility subject area expert and manager for the Maintenance and Repair Shop. Supervises a range of 5 to 15 FTEE. Work Schedule:

Experience:
